This Skype thing is working out rather well so far. The wireless company I work for pays my whole mobile bill except for long distance. For that I have a "discounted" rate of US$0.07/minute and my phone bill works out to be anywhere between US$10 and US$20 each month just from calls to my mom. With SkypeOut I have been calling at about US$0.02/minute. That's good because with the passing of my neighbor and mom's recent health concerns we've been talking a lot this weekend. And she tells me the sound is better, too. Click the banner above to give it a whirl. Voice Over IP (VOIP) isn't the treacherous thing it used to be.
Many thanks to Mike Norton of God in Tech who keeps recommending Skpe on his podcast.
