Sidetracked again and I don't know how

As is my wont I was perusing the headlines and the daily comics when for some unexpected reason I was browsing Victorinox Swiss Army knives at Amazon.com and letting wistfullness carry me away.

I already own several knives including three beloved Classics and the first Cybertool. And I always buy Victorinox because as the company says, "REMEMBER, If it doesn't say Victorinox, it's not the Original Swiss Army Knife." So it was with great surprise that I learned today that in April of this year "Victorinox based at Ibach (SZ), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of knives, has purchased Wenger SA of Delémont," their long-time rival (citation).

Now I don't know what to do. I've always told friends and relatives to buy Victorinox, not Wenger (though the latter has a cooler Website). This didn't stop a Wenger wristwatch/pocket knife combo kit from appearing under the Christmas tree one year, though. While the wristwatch seems to be decent enough (I don't like to wear a watch, otherwise I'd be wearing my late father's Rolex that is in my dresser), the knife just didn't feel right. As I can't find it right now I'm going to suppose that I gave it away.

Okay if someone would like to give something to me ...

Alas, I honestly don't know what I would do with a Swiss Army Champ XLT, but look at what it packs!

Retractable ballpoint pen, LED mini light, large and small blades, large serrated blade, large blade without point, can opener/small screwdriver, bottle opener with large screwdriver and wire stripper, screwdriver, wire stripper, combination tool, scissors, reamer with sewing eye, Phillips screwdriver, fine screwdriver, cuticle pusher, cap lifter with screwdriver tip and wire stripper, straight pin, mini screwdriver, wood chisel, wood saw, metal file, metal saw, nail file with nail cleaner nail file with screwdriver tip, fish scaler with hook disgorger and inch/metric ruler, key ring, magnifying glass, orange peeler with screwdriver tip, pliers with wire cutter, electrician blade, cut and picker blade with scraper, cap lifter with Phillips screwdriver tip and wire stripper, engraving panel, whistle, seat belt cutter, tweezers, toothpick, pruning blade, emergency blade, screwdriver with ruler, corkscrew, pharmaceutical spatula, hook, small Phillips head, bit case, #10/#15 Torx bit, 4mm flat head/#2 Phillips, #0/#1 Pozidrive bit, #8 Torx bit/4mm Hex bit, and 4mm/5mm Hex socket. Made of high-grade stainless steel for lasting performance. Translucent red Swiss Army Knife shell. 3-1/2Lx1-5/8W' (Amazon.com). That's 50 tools, do-dads, widgets, and geegaws! Jimminy Crickets, that's cool!

I guess I'll content myself with the knives I have, the nifty Victorinox ball cap I picked up from the Swiss Knife Shop (where I also picked up a great SIGG bottle), and the excellent Victorinox laptop computer backpack my employer gave me. And now that I'm thinking about it, I'm off to get out Dad's Rolex and wear it for a while. Self-winding watches get so lonely-looking when not worn even when they have a bunch of Swiss Army knives to keep them company in the dresser drawer.
