Song of the Day: Any version of Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher" is a treasure in it's own right, but listening to the version on The Blues Brothers movie soundtrack one can hear the passion that a new generation of listeners has for the music as they particpate in a scat session with the master. The version on Mr. Calloway's album The Early Years, Vol. 1: 1930-1934 is also rather good and features his orchestra. There are 7 versions on iTunes so I'm sure you'll find one you like. Maybe even the one with explicit lyrics from Tupac Shakur, though it only shares a title and not the lyrics or the melody with the legendary jazz song.
