The last post made reference to my being a Christian and a Freemason. My Bible study buddies are not too keen on the idea but their view is from the outside of Masonry. Click here to research some of the religious objections to Masonry (such that it is a religion unto itself) then read the Shriner's Creed and tell me that Masonry is anti-Christian.
In my opinion, this all dates back to 13 October 1307 -- a Friday, you'll note -- when the Roman Catholic Church destroyed the Knights Templar of the day (an event of such magnitude we remember it to this day) and continued to blame the Templars for all sorts of anti-Christian mischief. Ken Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code (an excellent and addictive book, really) sorts out some of this but also illustrates how easy it is to blend fact and fancy. We may never know the truth while bound in this mortal coil, but I have faith that my beliefs as a child of God and as a Mason are not contradictory. I have brothers in Christ that are brother Masons. The two are not exclusionary except in the eyes of those who choose not to see. Peace & Prayers.
